Rick Radke Memorial Detector Hunt



The annual Rick Radke Detector Hunt is normally in mid May, 2024 will be held June 8, (trying to hit some better weather) in Radersburg, Montana. The public is welcome! There are several types of hunts during the day, including a hunt specifically for kids. In addition to hunts, there are auctions, silent auctions, raffle for mining equipment, and great food!

Claim Jumper Hunt - There is two periods of hunting time for the hunt. During the first period, each contestant has their own square (claim) to hunt for lead tokens. At the end of the first period, if the contestant has found all the lead tokens in his/her claim, the contestant can (claim jump) into any other contestants claim. At the end of the second period, the contestant can cash their lead tokens in for actual gold nuggets!

Silver Hunt - All contestants have a specific allotment of time to hunt for silver coins and special painted pennies. At the end of the hunt, the contestants get to keep the coins and trade the painted pennies for prizes. This hunt is set up to be a competition between contestants utilizing a common field for everyone.

50 - 50 Hunt -The amount of awards for this hunt depends upon how many contestants there are. Half the proceeds collected from this specific hunt will be placed in the hunting field. The contestants are free to hunt the entire field for an alloted time. This hunt is the last hunt in the detecting field so keep in mind that there is left-over silver coins from previous hunts.

Youth Hunts -There are two age groups of youth hunts that all ages of children can get in on the act by detecting coins.
